4-H Livestock and Horse
The 4-H Livestock and Horse Programs are the largest animal science project areas, enabling youth to develop their interest in beef cattle, sheep, goat, dairy, swine, poultry, and horse. Youth learn about selection, care, and feeding of livestock, animal health, and importance of good record keeping. Emphasis for these projects continues to be focused on life skill development. These projects offer competitions such as Livestock Judging, Junior Stockmens, Dairy Judging, Horse Judging and Hippology contests as well as livestock, dairy and horse shows at the county, district, and state levels.
